Bradford on Avon is an historic Wiltshire town located in a river valley. Terraces of weavers’ cottages cling to the hillside and the many listed buildings, large and small, give interest and beauty to the area. Bradford has a wide range of shops as well as a regular town market, a monthly farmers’ market and a twice monthly WI market. It is a popular venue for serious antique hunters.
Bath’s Georgian crescents and Roman Baths are in reach either by car (8 miles) or by the train which follows a route along the picturesque Limpley Stoke Valley. The area around Bradford on Avon is particularly suitable for walking and cycling. The Kennet and Avon canal runs through the town and provides a safe and easy cycling route either west to Bath & Bristol or east to the famous flight of locks at Devizes.
